Alation is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to perform various IT services and support a growing organization. Alation is looking for an expert in Apple MacOS, Windows and Mobile Device troubleshooting skills and knowledge to resolve user issues. Other duties include, but not limited to, the following:

Qualification and Experience:
  1. Must have working knowledge of Apple MacOS, Windows as well have Mobile Device troubleshooting skills.
  2. College degree preferred but not required
  3. 4+ years of related work experience in business IT support, Helpdesk or NOC
Skills and Job Responsibilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and problem solving skills
  • Must be user focused
  • Ability to follow and adhere to defined processes and policies
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while producing high quality results
  • Passionate about technology
  • Perform account management utilizing SSO (JumpCloud), G-Suite, and other platforms, including: creation, removal, changes, password resets, and bulk operations
  • Maintain a reliable update deployment schedule
  • Configure L2/L3 switches and optimize network traffic and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform Wi-Fi connectivity troubleshooting
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with platforms such as G-Suite, Office 365, Apple Mail and Slack to optimize configuration and resolve user issues
  • Troubleshoot mail-flow, email logging, distribution groups and aliases
  • Support installation and maintenance of audio and video conferencing equipment
  • Support audio and video meetings
  • Support office telephony services
  • Communicate with users to resolve technical issues. Utilize expert knowledge of Apple and Windows desktop troubleshooting to assist users with connectivity, printing, customization, user profiles and applications.
  • Deploy new hardware using imaging technology
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and completely 
  • Provide support for IT departmental projects
  • Provide support and guidance for projects throughout the enterprise.
  • Update and maintain documentation
  • Accurately, regularly, and effectively
  • Assist with computer setup for new users in the office and remotely
  • Assist with new hire training
  • Assist with company All-Hands and other scheduled enterprise meetings
